We are all aware that children develop skills at different rates and that no two are the same.  This is one of the reasons that working with children is so fulfilling and unpredictable.

We have provided a 'general guide' to speech and language development but please remember that some children will be able to do more and some may not quite be doing what their peers can.

Use the 'Ages and Stages' as a guide not a checklist, and if you feel a child may need further support with their speech and language development please seek advice.
