• Understand adjectives (describing words) for example ‘cold’ ’soft'

• Uses words such as ‘and’ and ‘then’ to make sentences more complex

• Speech is clear and understood by most adults

• Beginning to understand language related to the concept of time, for example ‘yesterday’ ‘tomorrow’
